  • This ALERRT Update 5-hour training (TCOLE #3312) course along with the four online ALERRT courses listed below would allow Officers to comply with the 16 hours ALERRT mandate prior to August 31, 2025, current training unit. If an officer has never attended ALERRT Level I Course #3311, then he/she must take it somewhere else prior to the end of the current training unit because these courses would not satisfy that requirement.

The 51st Annual Texas Crime Prevention Association Conference will take place on July 19-23, 2026, at the Omni Corpus Christi located 900 N Shoreline Blvd Corpus Christi, TX 78401. The 2026 conference provides continuing training education for Crime Prevention Specialists and Security Professionals as well as allows for the exchange of Crime Prevention programs that have been successful throughout the nation. Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with various vendors during the week and attend the onsite Security Technology Expo on Tuesday, July 22 from 10:00 AM - 4 :00 PM. The Security Technology Expo will feature industry experts showcasing innovative advancements in surveillance, access control and cybersecurity solutions.  

Crime Prevention Specialists must successfully complete an update course or be assigned primarily as a crime prevention specialist by the appointing chief administrator once every two years in order to maintain their proficiency pursuant to the TCOLE §221.39 standardThe conference agenda will be posted upon completion.

The Omni Corpus Christi will be offering TCPA a special group rate (TBD) if booked prior to (TBD). Room rates are available (TBD) based on room availability.
